Having someone to talk to who had personal experience made a huge difference. The practical tips about latch and positioning were especially helpful.”

HSTSW provide an Infant Feeding Peer Support service to new and expectant parents in Salford. We provide information and support to help parents make informed choices around feeding their baby.

We offer:
- One-to-one breastfeeding/chestfeeding/ mixed feeding evidence-based support via telephone and home visits where appropriate
- Support alongside parent support groups held at the family hubs and other community locations
- Partnership working with midwives and health professionals to provide a seamless pathway of care for parents through the perinatal period
- Provide evidence-based information to expectant parents in helping them explore their options ahead of baby’s birth – we offer antenatal support through our Baby Feeding drop-ins and over the phone.

Salford Family Hub App information
The Salford Family Hub App supports you from pregnancy to your child’s teenage years and beyond with all your children. You will receive information about your child’s health and development including health visiting and immunisation information. The app translates into over 100 languages and you can search for expert, evidence-based as well as local information in the library with videos, articles and links to useful organisations.
